The mundane and the magical: child, sunset and model wind turbineProponents of sustainability-related education have, in the main, mapped out the field along the development/environment interface. Only hesitantly, if at all, have the insights, concerns and conceptual frameworks of peace, social justice, health, multicultural and international, faith and inter-faith and anti-discriminatory education been taken on board, a situation in urgent need of remedy as the twenty-first century anticipates the environmental and social disasters marked by massive population displacements, social dislocation, new physical and psychological maladies and potential for violent conflict that runaway climate change will bring. Sustainability Frontiers sees the widening of the scope of sustainability-related education as a conceptual but, more importantly, practical necessity.
