UNICEF Case Study on Climate Change and Environmental Education in North Macedonia
As part of her UNICEF ECARO consultancy, Fumiyo Kagawa has developed a UNICEF case study titled Climate Change and Environmental Education: The Innovative Approach of the Experiential Learning Network in North Macedonia.
Created in 2022, the Experiential Learning Network (ELN) is a nationwide education programme based on strong partnerships and collaborations between education and environment authorities, environmental civil society organizations and schools. The ELN offers primary and secondary school students with unique opportunities to learn about the environment, climate change and nature through hands-on experience.
This case study highlights the unique features of ELN, its emerging results, impacts and lessons learned to date, while suggesting ways forward.
