World as ‘Lasting Storm’ Article in Summer 2013 Number of Green Teacher
David Selby and Fumiyo Kagawa have contributed an article titled ‘World as “Lasting Storm”: Educating for Disaster Risk Reduction’ to the Summer 2013 number – the 100th number – of Green Teacher. The article briefly overviews the field of disaster risk reduction education (DRRE) before going on to explore five interrelated dimensions of DRR curriculum, learning and teaching with brief case study examples and illustrative photographs. This is followed by a short exploration of how DRRE fits within the landscape of environmental education. The article ends with descriptions of six learning activities (grades 5-12).
